365 days ago, I lost almost everything. My ability to walk, move my fingers, and I could barely breathe on my own. It takes a second for everything to change. The little things we take for granted suddenly become not so little. Such a situation shows who's really in your corner when it matters. Some surprised me, and I found out how many people have cared about me throughout my life. This year has forced me to slow down and remember what is really important to me, and the mistakes I was making. I've published two novels with a third waiting, and I've never had so much time to remember what it is I truly love. Remember to take a deep breath because you can. Flex your fingers, wiggle your toes, take a walk because you CAN. Take a second to love the small things...because you never know if or when they'll be stripped from you. Just slow down.
